Digital Art – Midnight Menagerie

Watermark'd

If you didn’t read Midnight Menagerie before, this fan art looks like “A DnD campaign with a Vampire and Rouge”, according to a friend of mine! Although, if that’s the case, Shawn ain’t doing a good job. He’s not helping Romero at all, good gosh!

On the account of digital painting, I’m still not that good at it. Honestly, I think Shawn’s face is a bit too chub, and his nose is off. Any good tips on how to paint noses and good faces, let me know please! I’m all up for helpful tips and tricks for the world of digital painting (and drawing/art in general!).

Work In Progress – Midnight Menagerie Fanart

WIP

Midnight Menagerie is a webcomic I adore so, so much. Bwillett, the artist and author, has been one consent inspiration in my own works as an creator. And, since I don’t know if Bwillett is going to make a Halloween image herself… I wanted too.

Besides, MM is her digitally coloured and produced comic, so it makes sense that I should use digital myself!

Also, yeah, I do need to add shorts on Rob. I don’t think he’d like his bits out in the open…

Akina and The Warden, Krutis Amell. Why haven’t ya’ll seen many drawings of Krutis…? Well, he’s usually appearing in the comic more so than illustrations, so if you want to see more of him – go to Dragon Age: ECHO‘s site.

One thing I love about Krutis and Akina, they have a mostly-green clothing/colour palette with warmer skin + hair colours. I have no idea why that’s so fascinating to me, but it just is. It doesn’t help that Brutus has mostly a blue colour scheme and CuΓ‘n mostly has a red scheme…

Digital Art – Draw the Squad

Watermark'd2

You know those “Draw the Squad” art prompts/references that are going around on tumblr and what not? Decided to do one to help myself get semi-comfortable with digital art. πŸ’—

To be honest, Akina wouldn’t physically touchΒ CuΓ‘n without wincing and shirking up in fear…So lets pretend this is an Akina who’sΒ able to do so. πŸ˜…

The original image/prompt is by croxovergoddess! Check out their tumblr page, their art is pretty good tbh, and I’m glad they’re not just the “Draw the Squad” artist.

These three are from my fan-comic, Dragon Age: ECHO.

Traditional Art – A Peaceful Afternoon

Watermark'd2

I…Just wanted to draw Akina with a bundle of flowers. Honestly, I can see her gathering all of these flowers up, just to throw them onto Brutus below. She likes to bother him in those ways. πŸ’—

This was honestly just a break between inking comic pages.

Traditional Art – Spell Bonded Twins

Watermark'd

For some immense reason, between working on comic pages, I wanted to draw Snow + Rose…And spend roughly four days or so spacing out the whole process.

Originally, I wanted to use watercolours for this – but I realized far too late that my desk is forever at an angle. Like, even if I wanted to flatten it down to use it as a regular desk I wouldn’t be able too. So, I guess watercolours are just going to be a touch-and-go thing for me – not quite meant for ‘serious’ illustrations, but yet something I still want too do…

Sketch – The Twins

I’ve decided that I’m going to TRY to scan more of my sketches instead of taking photos of them with my phone like how I usually do – I dunno how long this’ll last, but hey – it might happen!

I’m mostly only scanning this since I might ruin the sketch while inking, since I have an ability to do that when I’m using the materials I’m going to use…

Digital Art – An Unneeded Contract

Watermark'd

Autumn looks pretty pretty with long hair. Brutus, on the other hand, looks so done with the other mage…And a bit flustered. πŸ˜† Oh, Brutus, you have poorΒ  tastes let me tell you…

It’s been a while since I did digital art – to me, at least. I’ve been sketching out comic pages like crazy, so I haven’t had a chance nor really wanted too do any digital work. This was a nice break from blue lines, lemmie tell you…

These two are from my webcomic, Dragon Age: ECHO.

Niththal is the type who’ll site through piles and piles of books just to satisfy an annoying need to learn (Read: A spirit who partly posses him) – so this sort of scene is common to find him in.

For some reason I can’t figure out how to edit this drawing to look like how it does in person. In person, Niththal’s hair is duller + darker, along with his robes. But for some reason, I can’t edit this to look like how it does.

If anyone has any tips on how to edit your illustrations and drawings to look like how they do in person…Please let me know.
