Traditional Art – Day of Satinalia!

Watermark'd

Akina probably never experienced Satinalia/Feastday in it’s fullest, so I have a feeling when she gets the chance to celebrate it she’s going all out and making sure it’s a fun day for her.

Although I don’t know why she’d invite Cuán along, but it was probably out of goodness of “the Holiday Spirit” – and it was made really clear he shouldn’t…Do anything to her, on such a Holiday! Brutus, however, isn’t a Holiday person. He’s probably only doing this since the Warden (chilling dude who’s watching them) told him too. And you know you can’t say “No, f**k you” to a Warden.

Nutt is also trying to score with Autumn, which won’t work. Since Autumn is clearly meant for themself and themself alone god – no one else would please them.

Honestly though, it was a fight to figure out if I wanted to keep it like this with a few selective colours or fully colour it. Obviously, you can see which won – but it was a worthy battle! But the near-monochrome-esce colouring won it for me.

Traditional Art – Casual Conversation

Akina and The Warden, Krutis Amell. Why haven’t ya’ll seen many drawings of Krutis…? Well, he’s usually appearing in the comic more so than illustrations, so if you want to see more of him – go to Dragon Age: ECHO‘s site.

One thing I love about Krutis and Akina, they have a mostly-green clothing/colour palette with warmer skin + hair colours. I have no idea why that’s so fascinating to me, but it just is. It doesn’t help that Brutus has mostly a blue colour scheme and Cuán mostly has a red scheme…

Materials Used: Sepia Copic Multiliners, Copic Markers,
Primsacolor Markers, and a Uni-ball Signo White pen.

Traditional Art – Spell Bonded Twins

Watermark'd

For some immense reason, between working on comic pages, I wanted to draw Snow + Rose…And spend roughly four days or so spacing out the whole process.

Originally, I wanted to use watercolours for this – but I realized far too late that my desk is forever at an angle. Like, even if I wanted to flatten it down to use it as a regular desk I wouldn’t be able too. So, I guess watercolours are just going to be a touch-and-go thing for me – not quite meant for ‘serious’ illustrations, but yet something I still want too do…

Materials Used: Mircon Pens, Copic Markers,
and a Uni-ball Signo White pen.

Niththal is the type who’ll site through piles and piles of books just to satisfy an annoying need to learn (Read: A spirit who partly posses him) – so this sort of scene is common to find him in.

For some reason I can’t figure out how to edit this drawing to look like how it does in person. In person, Niththal’s hair is duller + darker, along with his robes. But for some reason, I can’t edit this to look like how it does.

If anyone has any tips on how to edit your illustrations and drawings to look like how they do in person…Please let me know.

Materials Used: Warm Grey Copic Multiliners, Stabilo Fineliners, Copic Markers, Primacolor Markers, and a Uni-ball Signo White pen.

Uh…Cuán, I don’t think Autumn is a good person to get comfort from – she’s up to no good, honestly. In fact, I think she’s the last person you should go too — maybe go to your commander.

This was originally going to be a watercolour painting, but…Well, take a look at what me using masking fluid for the first time looks like:

Traditional Art – A Rose named Geoffrey

watermarkd001

Rose was a name he didn’t choose.
Rose was a name that was bittersweet – a name that refereed to a child and his sister,
The two who played daily, those who cared less about the world –
Not a bitter man, leading his men to die
For his selfish needs.

Traditional Art – Mailas’ and their Humans

While most seen it as oppressive to them – for they are smart, conscious creatures – Mailas’ need companionship to be able to keep their animal-like instincts in place. Although many Mailas disagree with this, there are a few who enjoy the domestication.

Ayyyooo! I wanted to draw Reyes and Clive together! Reyes is – in many of ways – Clive’s ‘owner’. They makes sure Clive doesn’t get too upset over small, simple things. For Reyes they gets grounded and “humaning: as they claims.

The First Winter Snowfall

Clio Theo Winter WaterMark

Going to be honest here; I went over-board with the Copic Opaque White. I just had so much fun, and I wanted to make it look like it was snowing…
But smacking a bunch of it down!

So, I’ll apologize ahead of time future me; I wanted to experiment, and I did. You’ll do it too, future Marly. You’ll mess up and have too much fun. So don’t blame me. ❤

Materials Used: Copic Markers, Copic Opaque White, Mircon Multiliners,
and a lot of Colourless Ink.
